On behalf of our entire Pediatric Smiles team, welcome! We’re excited to meet you and set your child up for dental success. We also recommend talking with your child about their upcoming visit. Assure them that the dentist and staff will take time to explain all procedures and answer any questions they may have. Visit our blog for tips on relieving dental anxiety.
Worried about visiting a pediatric dentist? Check out the most commonly asked questions for first appointments!
At every exam we will review your child’s health history; take any necessary x-rays; clean your child’s teeth (if any are present); conduct a thorough clinical examination of your child’s mouth, palate, gums, tongue and teeth; and teach them about good food choices and how to brush and floss their teeth. Prevention in dentistry is the best treatment we can offer!
For the safety and privacy of all patients, other children who are not being treated should remain in the reception room with a supervising adult.
We accept many forms of dental insurance. Please call us at (816) 479-5562 to determine if we can help you and your family with your specific dental care plan.
Families with dental insurance will be asked to provide insurance information when you call to make your child’s first dental appointment. We will verify your insurance eligibility and benefits as best we can before you arrive.
Our staff will advise you of the estimated co-payment for the first visit and will complete a written Financial Arrangement for any treatment needed after your child’s examination is complete. You will be required to pay your estimated co-payment portion the day that services are scheduled for your child.

They were so great. Kiera (hopefully i spelled that right!) was wonderful with my 7 year old daughter. She has sensory issues with certain things and they were so patient and kind and sweet with her. And not just Kieran, but everyone from checkin to checkout was wonderful. We will be going back and definitely recommend to others, especially if you have really sensitive littles that need just an extra but of patience! Thanks so much!
We had an emergency dental situation and as new patients, I was thrilled with how quickly the office got us in for a consultation. My daughter was nervous but the dental assistant was so nice and relatable and made my 9 year old daughter feel comfortable and at ease, singing Encanto songs with her. When we came back for her procedure, Dr Francois was great!!!
My daughter had her very 1st dental appointment today and I was really nervous. All my butterflies were put to rest immediately, the staff is wonderful. They let my baby be her normal busy self until it was time for cleaning. The dentist assistant turned on Moana for her and spoke calmly to her while she explained everything she was going to do before proceeding...
We love Dr. Francois and Pediatric Smiles. The entire team is friendly and professional. It's easy to get appointments scheduled and the office is almost always running right on time. My son was afraid of the dentist and we had two unsuccessful appointments at other dentists before coming to Pediatric Smiles. They explained everything that was going to happen and made my son feel comfortable. Now he loves going to the dentist!
Showed up two weeks early for an appointment and they worked us in to save us a drive! They tirelessly worked with me to get my insurance issues worked out. Addie and B were amazing with my girls and made them feel so at ease which is a blessing at the dentist. 10/10 experience. Highly recommend bringing your kiddos here.
